Build a Better Mindset by Developing the Habit of Positive Thinking

About this app

MindUp is a tool that helps uplift your mind by building a better mindset and developing the habit of positive thinking

Your mindset plays a very important role in what you can achieve and realize in life. Scientific research shows that a more positive mindset leads to more happiness, satisfaction, self-esteem, health, resilience and success.

MindUp uses a scientifically proven method to build a better mindset. You start with a simple exercise where you only need to register 5 positive experiences per day.

Numerous scientific studies find that registering only 5 positive things per day for a couple of weeks has a positive effect on our mindset that lasts for several months.

Some of the findings of these studies are as follows.

Writing down things you are grateful for on a daily basis for a period of 16 days led to a decrease in the symptoms of physical illness and an increase in positive feelings, satisfaction with life and a sense of connection with others (Emmons & McCullough, 2003)

Writing down three good things on a daily basis for a period of 7 days led to increased happiness and a reduction of depressive symptoms for a minimum of six months (Seligman et al., 2005)

Writing down five things you've been thankful for since yesterday for a period of 2 weeks led to an increase in gratitude and satisfaction with life and a decrease in negative feelings for at least three weeks (Froh et al., 2008)

Writing down daily grateful moments for a period of 3 weeks led to an increase in positive feelings, adjustment to university life and satisfaction with life (Işık & Ergüner-Tekinalp, 2017)

Writing down positive experiences for 15 minutes three times a week for a period of 11 weeks led to a decrease in psychological complaints, anxiety and depressive symptoms and increase in well-being in medical patients with mild to moderate anxiety symptoms (Smyth et al., 2018)

Writing down three positive experiences daily for a period of 7 days led to an increase in happiness and decrease in depressive symptoms for at least three months (Carter et al., 2018)

Writing down daily grateful moments for a period of 14 days led to an increase in positive feelings, happiness and satisfaction with life and a decrease in negative feelings and depressive symptoms for at least two weeks (Cunha et al., 2019)

Writing down and savoring positive experiences for 5 minutes in the morning and evening for a period of 7 days led to more resilience and happiness and less depressive symptoms for at least three months (Smith and Hanni, 2019)

Once you start noticing the positive effects, your motivation will increase and it becomes easier to uphold the exercise routine until you have formed a habit and permanently changed your mindset.
