• Find a new headspace and a powerful mindshift through evidence-based therapeutic tools.

💡 WHAT MAKES BETWIXT WORK
Betwixt is a soothing anti-depression and -anxiety game that draws on decades of psychology research and therapeutic practice into how we feel, think and behave. It includes tools for emotion regulation and self reflection, journal prompts for mental health, elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness approaches, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Jungian theory and others. Together, these methods work to improve your wellbeing, calm your mind, increase your self esteem and help you deal with challenging emotions.

An immersive experience
In Betwixt, you become the hero (or heroine) of an interactive adventure through a dreamlike world that responds to your thoughts and feelings. We’ve used immersive storytelling and sounds to create an alternative for people who find a CBT diary too dry, and struggle to engage with mindfulness, breathing or counseling apps, emotion trackers and mood journals.

For neurodivergent users, such as adults with ADHD, Betwixt offers a creative, engaging approach that removes distractions, improves your focus, motivation and mindset without creating digital addiction.

Evidence-based
Independent research (awaiting publication) shows that Betwixt can significantly reduce anxiety and stress in just 2 weeks, with effects that can last months. For years, we’ve been working with various therapists and psychology researchers to make the science of wellbeing accessible to anyone. You can find an overview of our research studies and collaborations on our site at https://www.betwixt.life/

"Captivating. Betwixt is a new direction in mental health."

The power of story and play
Even if we understand how we feel and why, knowledge can only get us so far. If you have a tendency to overthink or if you’re already highly self-aware (like many people with ADHD or other forms of neurodiversity), you might already know your struggles quite well. And yet, that doesn’t automatically lead to change. People learn best through experience, which is why games like Betwixt are a great way for overcoming self-sabotage: they help us to actually embody and embed mindshifts and new behaviors.

In Betwixt, you aren’t simply self-reflecting; you’re acting out a new story, bringing in your creativity, empathy and imagination. Our subconscious, which guides most of what we do, is hard to reason with, but it responds to story, metaphor and creativity. That’s why interactive fiction can be powerful on your healing journeys, by helping you rewrite the narratives that direct your actions just outside of conscious awareness.
