Wedding ceremony is considered as one of the most important and happiest events in Kurdish culture. This ceremony is on the occasion of the union and solidarity of two families and the creation of new commitments between two people. Kurdish wedding ceremony starts with the beginning of the night before the wedding and continues until the end of the wedding night.The night before the wedding, the bride's and groom's families gather at the bride's house and eat together, and then proceed to the groom's house. In the meantime, various ceremonies are performed for the happiness and health of the bride and groom. After that, the bride's and groom's families move to the bride's house with a group of musicians singing traditional songs.
On the day of the wedding, the main ceremony begins. At first, the bride and groom's families perform the marriage ceremony in the presence of the Friday imam and wedding witnesses. Then, with the sound of traditional music, the bride and groom enter the wedding hall with their families. In this ceremony, the bride and groom sign their marriage agreement together and officially commit to being a wife.
After this ceremony, the wedding food is served, which includes traditional Kurdish dishes such as pilaf, Qorme Sabzi and various stews. In this section, traditional music and dances are also performed and the guests are happy together.
