Kim Seok-jin, better known by his mononym Jin, is a singer, songwriter and member of the group BTS from South Korea. As a songwriter he has five songs accredited to his name.Kim Seok Jin received an offer to join SM Entertainment when Kim Seok Jin was 15 years old by someone he met on the street, but he didn't accept the offer. While Jin was studying acting, Kim Seok Jin was discovered because of his appearance by the casting manager from and was invited to audition.
BTS Kim Seok Jin debuted as one of the four vocalists of BTS on Mnet's M Countdown with the song "No More Dream" from their debut album, 2 Cool 4 Skool. Although he had written songs before, he first co-produced a solo track from the Wings album "Awake" which peaked at number 31 on the Gaon chart.
Kim Seok Jin collaborated with his group mates, BTS V for the soundtrack for the historical drama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth entitled "It's Definitely You". He also joined BTS member Jungkook to sing and release an alternative version of "So Far Away", a song from BTS member Suga Agust D's mixtape.
