God Almighty has afflicted man with an enemy who does not leave him for the blink of an eye, and a companion who does not sleep or lose sight of him, whom he and his tribe see from wherever he does not see him, who exerts his efforts in enmity with him in every case, and does not leave a matter that plots against him with which he is able to deliver it to him, except that he leads him to him, that is Satan. Who told us God of his enmity towards us, and more in his book mentioned his deceptions and plots and his steps by which he lured people to deviate from the straight path.
Satan set up enmity towards man early on and took upon himself a covenant to mislead them, so those who followed him among the human demons followed him, so they strengthened his efforts, and even challenged him in it, so they excelled over him, so evil pervaded and corruption appeared on land and sea.

Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr, Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ubaid bin Sufyan bin Qais al-Baghdadi al-Qurashi, their master, one of the loyalists of the Umayyads (208 AH - 281 AH), nicknamed Ibn Abi al-Dunya (and his title overshadowed his name until he became famous for it); Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr was born in the city of Baghdad, at the beginning of the third century AH, in the year two hundred and eight (208 AH). He is an Arab historian and writer, who taught al-Mu'tadid al-Abbasid and his son al-Muktafi Billah.

- On the authority of Qais bin Al-Hajjaj, he said: My devil said: I entered you and I am like roots, and I am in you today like a sparrow. He said: I said: Why is that? He said: Melt me with the Book of God Almighty.
- On the authority of Khalid bin Maadan, he said: There is no human being except that a devil is hidden, his back and neck resting on his shoulder, so his mouth gaped over his heart.
- Mutrif said: I looked, and if the son of Adam was lying between the hands of God Almighty and Satan, if he wanted to protect him, he would protect him, and if he left him, Satan would take him.
