Do the dead know the visitation and peace of the living? Do the souls of the dead converge and visit each other? Do souls distinguish after the separation of bodies from each other? These and many other questions find their answers in this valuable book by Ibn Al-Qayyim.

A unique book. I don't think anyone has written a book on the same subject, in the same method, content, style, and approved references

The Spirit is a beautiful book, and it was my key to entering the writings of Ibn al-Qayyim, may God have mercy on him. The book is divided into issues, and each issue mentions and discusses the sayings of the mujtahids, and either confirms or denies them according to what is seen in the Qur’an and Sunnah. In the first issues of the book, the discussion was about the souls of people in the grave and what became of their Lord's bliss or torment, according to the dreams of some righteous living. Then he moves on to the issues of the soul, soul and body, and mentions the reassuring soul, blame and the emirate, then comes up with similar topics except in a poem and shows the differences so that the believer does not fall into their suspicion such as courage and boldness, forgiveness and humiliation, the angels inspire us and Satan and others, so the writer takes a very beautiful spiritual path in the last part of the book. An important book that contains a lot of information that benefits us in our religion and our world. Every Muslim should read it.

❇️ Some quotes from the book Al-Rouh by Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyya ❇️

A mention from the hadith of Sufyan, told us by Dawad bin Shapur, on the authority of Abu Qaza’a, who said:
We passed through some of the waters between us and Basra
So we heard the braying of a donkey and said to them:
What is this braying
They said this is a man we had was his mother
Talk to him about something and he says to her
bray you
When he died, he heard this braying from his grave every night.”

The twelfth issue: which is that the question of Munkar and Nakeer is whether it is specific to this ummah or is it for her and others?
The answer: And God knows best - that every nation asks about its prophet, and that they are tormented in their graves after the question
them and establish the proof against them, as they will be tormented in the Hereafter after asking and establishing the argument.”

“The torment of the grave is a right that only one who is astray or misguided can deny it.”

“The bottles that came to us were heavy...even if they were filled with sewage. It was scared and almost flew with a whale... and so did the bodies fear the souls.”

“Our souls flow on the edge of the deer, and they do not flow on anything other than the gazelle.”
