HistoricalDespite a political life marked by instability since its independence, Guinea-Bissau has known only one constitution revised in 1991, 1993 and 19961.
On May 12, 2020, President Bissau-Guinea Umaro Sissoco Embaló announced in a presidential decree the creation of a commission to propose a draft revision of the Constitution. The five members of this commission, chosen by the president himself, will have 90 days to present their work to him.
