He first learned about the elders of his country and heard many of their narrations, and he had an extensive journey in the request of hadith, during which he toured the Islamic countries several times. Baghdad and Kufa, and deported to the Levant, Egypt, and Ray. He stayed for nearly fifteen years in the study of hadith, during which he met a large number of sheikhs, and collected more than three hundred thousand hadiths. Scholars of his time and those after them commended him, and acknowledged his Imamate, progress and mastery in the science of hadith. He took the hadith from Ahmad bin Hanbal, Ishaq bin Rahwayh, Abu Zara’a Al-Razi and others, and was a student of Imam Muhammad bin Ismail Al-Bukhari. He has other unauthentic works in the science of hadith and the science of men; But most of them are missing, he died on Sunday the twenty-fifth of Rajab in the year 261 AH, at the age of fifty-five years, and he was buried on Monday and his tomb is in the head of Ziyad Square in Nasrabad in Dahir Nishapur.
