About this app

Big Division is an app that can help you learn how to do long division problems with remainders. There is a step by step calculator that can guide you through the long division method. There are long division games to help reinforce the solution steps.

About Long Division:
Long division refers to the way a division problem can be solved by breaking it up into smaller, more manageable steps. A division problem is made up of a number (the dividend) being divided by another number (the divisor). The result is made up of a quotient and a remainder. In a long division problem, the dividend can be broken up into a smaller number, a “sub-dividend.” The answer is made up of “sub-quotients” and a final “sub-remainder”.
t
Long Division Steps:
1.tDivide the sub-dividend by the divisor to get the sub-quotient.
2.tMultiply the sub-quotient by the divisor.
3.tSubtract the sub-dividend by the multiplied result to get the sub-remainder.
4.t“Bring down” the next digit of the dividend next to the sub-remainder to make a new sub-dividend.
5.tRepeat steps 1-4 until there are no more digits to bring down.

As you can see, a long division problem is made up of several division, multiplication, and subtraction problems, so Big Division also is an excellent source for improving and maintaining basic arithmetic speed and accuracy. By using Big Division, you can get your daily dose of math brain training exercises that can help you pass a test, perform quick calculations at work, at home, while shopping, or anywhere you need to solve simple, easy, math problems.

The problems in Big Division are divided into 4 levels, with each level representing the size of the dividend; Level 1 problems have single-digit dividends, Level 2 problems have 2-digit dividends, and so forth up to 4-digit dividends. Larger problems are unlocked by solving smaller problems.

You can analyze your trouble areas with both numerical and color-coded display of your results.

Stay motivated by setting and beating your fastest times.
