About this app

‘Dakshata’ is a strategic initiative by the Government of India to improve the quality of care at the delivery points of the country through a focused program which includes a concise training package for competency enhancement for Medical Officers, Nurses and ANMs; developing a system of post-training follow-up and mentoring; ensuring availability of essential commodities, supplies and equipment in the labour rooms; and strengthening the capacity of the facilities and the system to measure quality of care on a regular basis.
The Dakshata Mentoring App has been developed by Jhpiego on behalf of the Government of India to streamline the process of data reporting and collection from state mentors on Dakshata. This app will serve as the digital platform for first hand data reporting by Dakshata mentors at state and district levels for ensuring facilitated actions for quality improvement in labor rooms at the earliest. The content of the app is aligned with the Dakshata package to ensure its effective roll-out by the mentor. Reports of mentoring visits to facilities can be shared by mentor on real time basis.
In addition, there will be a web dashboard that can be accessed by national, state and district-level officials with reports on training status of health staff, resource availability, labour room standards and adherence to evidence-based practices. Data will be complied and analysed in real time for effective utilization and decision-making for improvement of service delivery at labour rooms of public health facilties.
