The first flower you will learn to draw is a Lily of the valley

Lily of the valley is a fragrant flower related to the asparagus. It is sometimes called lily-of-the-valley, May bells, lady’s tears, or Mary’s tears. Most plants have just two leaves and one stem of bell shaped flowers.
Lily of the valley is poisonous to humans and pets, but several butterflies use it as a food source. It is a favorite shade garden flower, and perfumes imitate its sweet scent. The royal family of Britain favors it as a wedding flower. Images of lily of the valley appear on Moldova postal stamps and Norwegian coats of arms, and it is recognized as a national symbol in Yugoslavia and Finland.

In floriography, the “language of flowers” once used to send secret messages, lily of the valley represents the return of happiness once lost. This may be based on a legend in which a lily of the valley plant loved a nightingale bird. The bird returned to its home only when the flowers bloomed in spring.
