Kai Lukas Havertz is a German footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder and striker for
Arsenal and the Germany national team. On 29 August 2018, Havertz was called up for the
first time to the Germany squad by coach Joachim Löw. He was included for the League of
Nations matches against France and for the friendly against Peru. Havertz made his debut
on 9 September 2018, replacing Timo Werner against Peru in the 88th minute, as the match
ended as a 2–1 home win for Germany. By making his debut, he became the first player
born in 1999 to represent Germany.
