Works and blessings of Surah Al-Isra '

1) To increase comprehension and eloquence

On the authority of Abi Abdullah (peace be upon him), he said: ... And that their books are in their hearts and they do not drink water, they do not apologize against their words, and they speak in tongues with correctness and lack of understanding.

Imam Sadegh (as) said: ... If he writes this Surah in a container and washes himself in water and drinks from it, his understanding will increase and he will speak and his tongue will open.

2) To open the child's tongue

On the authority of Abi Abdullah (peace be upon him), he said: ... One should recite the saffron and drink the water, and may God speak with his permission and speech.

Imam Sadegh (as) said: ... Whoever writes this surah with saffron on a dish and washes it and drinks its water to a child who has taken his tongue, may his tongue be opened and spoken by the permission of God.

Reward from the recitation of Surah Bani Israel
On the authority of the son of Husayn, peace be upon him, he said:

Surah Bani-Isra’il (Children on Israel)
There are 111 verses in this ‘makki’ Surah. The Holy Prophet (S) has said that a great reward will be accorded to those who recite this Surah and when they reach the verse about parents, they feel a sense of love and gentleness towards their parents.

It is narrated from Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) that whoever recites Surah Bani-Isra’il every Thursday night, will not die before meeting Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.) and will be counted among his companions. Also, if a child is not able to speak or is delaying in his learning how to speak, he should be given the water of this Surah that has been written with saffron.

In the commentary of Safi it is written that the Holy Prophet (S) told Imam Ali (a.s.) that the last two verses of this Surah are a protection and safety from theft. This Surah is also called Surah al-Isra ’.
