Psychological manipulation - the type of social, psychological impact, socio-psychological phenomenon, which is a desire to change the perception or behavior of other people with a hidden, deceptive or violent tactics. Since, as a rule, such methods of promoting the interests of the manipulator, often at the expense of other people, they can be considered operational, violent, dishonest and unethical.

The social impact in all cases is negative. For example, a doctor may try to convince patients to change unhealthy habits. Social impacts are usually considered harmless when it respects the individual's right to accept or reject it, and is not overly positive. Depending on the context and motivation, social impact may be hidden manipulation.
