Observatoire FAUNA
Improve knowledge of biodiversity by sharing your observations.
Detailed Description
The FAUNA Observatory presents a mobile application dedicated to capturing naturalistic observations (fauna). Whether you are a passionate nature enthusiast, a seasoned professional or simply curious about biodiversity, this application offers you quick and intuitive tools to document and share your discoveries.
Your observations feed the largest French public naturalist database, the SINP, without any degradation. Every observation you record plays a vital role in improving knowledge of natural heritage. The data are automatically integrated into the SINP, via the regional base of the FAUNA Observatory. No more need to duplicate your entries on different tools or send your data to several parties because they quickly become accessible to everyone, free of charge, the next day. They are thus used by all the actors working for the biodiversity around you: nature protection associations, managers of natural spaces (parks, reserves, etc.), scientific community, design offices, public establishments, communities, etc.
The data you collect benefits from all the processing applied by the FAUNA Observatory: scientific validation, sensitivity to diffusion... Some natural heritage stakeholders even receive instant notifications on targeted species, thus improving responsiveness to events specific (stranding of turtles, observation of a rare endemic species, etc.).
Data quality is a priority. They are consistent and compliant with official national standards (taxonomy, form nomenclatures, etc.) regardless of the input template used. The application in fact offers personalized forms, always 100% compatible with national standards, adapted to various activities such as participatory science surveys, scientific protocols or simple walks.
To maximize your experience in the field, the application works in offline mode. You can save your observations and sync them later when you have access to a network. Additionally, a "voice memo" mode lets you record audio notes to capture your observations later, providing complete flexibility when out in the great outdoors.
Join us in preserving biodiversity and make each observation a step towards a better understanding and protection of our natural heritage!
