Use your voice to count calories or points!

For dieters who can approximate food item calories or points, this voice food diary and calorie counter app is fast to use which makes you more likely to record all your food items each day.

To get started you first have to train the food diary with the number of calories or points for each food item you eat as you eat it.

1) launch the app and press the microphone button
2) say a food item you've just eaten including estimated calories:
BANANA 100 CALORIES or BANANA 2 POINTS
alternatively, you can just say the food name and manually enter the calorie amount
3) press the mic button to add more food or tap on the screen to exit

Once the food item calories are entered, in the future you can just say the food name without the word CALORIES. Once you have trained the app you simply can do this:

1) launch the food diary
2) say the food name
3) enter a new value for calorie/pts or accept the guessed amount
4) tap the screen to exit

You can also bulk enter foods by separating them with the word PLUS:
i.e. banana PLUS chocolate pudding PLUS applesauce

(Hint: if you don't know the calories for an item you can look it up on the web by tapping the Search button on the quick calorie entry screen.. choose bing or duckduckgo for example.)

You can tag fruits and veggies as "Stars" by tapping on the calories for the item in the main food diary screen.

TIPS:
--- You should consult a health professional before beginning any diet, especially if you have any chronic conditions
--- This only tracks calories and your subjective good/bad foods.. you should use a more detailed nutrition analysis app if you need to control sodium, vitamin a etc...
--- You should also engage in an exercise program that emphasizes strength training and aerobic activity...we lose muscle as we age but muscle burns calories!
--- It may take awhile to find a diet that works for you long term.. A lot of diets work temporarily but eventually rebound and/or lose muscle mass (we are currently switching to a low carb/low GI/healthy fats diet to keep our blood sugar levels more stable).
