The edition of the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible was a project initiated by the International Bible Society in 1979. The translation used as an original guide the biblical texts in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek which were translated by a group of experts representing to a dozen Spanish-speaking countries belonging to different evangelical Christian denominations.
