This Android application is an explanation of the book Manhaj Salaf Fi Fahmi Al-Nushush Baina al-Nadzariyah wa al-Tathbiq by Sayyid Muhammad bin Alawi al-Maliki. In PDF format.

This book is called "Manhaj Salaf Fi Fahmi al-Nushush, Baina al-Nadzariyah wa al-Tathbiq", if translated it means "The bright path of the scholars of the Salaf in understanding the proposition, between theory and practice".

The meaning of manhaj itself in Arabic means "طريق واضح" A clear path, or it can mean a certain guide that can lead to a certain destination as well.

While salaf means earlier, the word "Salaf' itself has been reduced in meaning to earlier scholars, to be precise since after the Shabat until around the 4th century Hijriyah.

So it can be concluded, the purpose of the title of this book is to reveal the veil about the ways and methods of the salaf scholars in understanding the texts of Shari'a.

At first glance, this book does have something to do with Usul Fiqh, because it studies how the salaf scholars understand a proposition.

The process of trying to understand the text in ushul fiqh is usually termed the concept of "Ijtihad".

Meanwhile, many of the Muslims study Usul Fiqh, but rarely practice it.

Therefore, this book, which was written by one of the 40 Ash'ari Madzhab Hadith Scholars, tries to uncover how the previous scholars applied the concept of ijtihad correctly, in understanding the arguments of both the Koran and hadith.

And this book actually started from the author's anxiety about the condition of Muslims who quarrel a lot about ijtihadiyah.

In the introduction to his book, Sayyid Muhammad bin Alawi al-Maliki emphasized that there are many arguments explaining the inevitability of differences regarding matters that are ijtihady.

Concrete examples, such as when the friends differ in understanding the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad.

لا يصلين أحدكم العصر إلا في بني قريظة

"Do not pray Asr except at the Bani Quraidhah"

This hadith appeared when the Shabats were returning from the Ahzab war. Listening to the words of Rasulullah saw. this, the friends differed in opinion, there was a group of friends who insisted on continuing to move to the Bani Quraidhah, even though it would be late for the Asr prayer.

And some understand the hadith above from its contents. This group argues the intent of the words of the Prophet Muhammad. mentioned above, ordered them to immediately return home and head to the Bani Quraidhah.

And it turned out that neither of these two groups of friends were blamed by the Prophet, and both were justified.
