Bartomeu W. Stone in Kentucky (Presbyterian until 1804); Thomas Campbell and his son Alexander Campbell in western Pennsylvania (Presbyterian until 1809); and evangelist Walter Scott in Pennsylvania and Ohio (Baptist until 1826) were notable leaders of the church.
In Brazil it began in 1960, in the state of Goiás through the sending of missionaries Davi and Ruth Sanders, where I had the immense pleasure of meeting them.
In Recife it started in 1991 with Pr Carlos Alberto who was from Pernambuco, but was sent from Brasilia to Recife, my pastor and spiritual mentor.
Pr Marcelo Ramos and Jedivani Moura were ordained by Pr Carlos Alberto in 1991 and are the presiding pastors until today.
